Why should I purchase from Suburban Rocketry? Suburban Rocketry is a small Australian owned and operated business. We have invested heavily and made a commitment to stock our listed products in Australia and we strive for exceptional customer service. When you place an order with Suburban Rocketry you will receive prompt friendly professional service from a small company who is passionate about rocketry and enthusiastic to support this great hobby in Australia. Rocketry is a bloody great hobby, my goal with the creation of Suburban Rocketry is to promote Australian rocketry and encourage creativity and skill within the hobby. This was always going to be difficult without a local source of rocketry products.

I believe our pricing is very reasonable and our range of stocked products is second to none. We are proud to boast the largest range of rocketry products in Australia (perhaps the most in the Southern Hemisphere), and we are committed to making these products available for immediate shipping from our NSW warehouse.

While we are happy to specially order items if requested (and please feel free to make such a request), our intention was always centered around a commitment to make stock available for next day dispatch because this is what we are all after when making a purchase.  Customers who deal with Suburban Rocketry keep coming back and we have had glowing reviews since starting out in 2007. So give us a go and you will not be disappointed.

I wanted to order something but you do not show stock. When will it be available? While we make every effort to keep our stock levels healthy, from time to time something may be sold out. Most of the time this will only be temporary however please feel free to contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will be happy to work with you and get what you want ASAP.

Something I am interested in is priced at $0.00. Is it free? Ummm.... No.  Some of the larger kits are quite expensive. The Australian dollar has fluctuated 30% over the last 12 months and we recently got caught out attempting to hold stock on some of the more expensive kits. The dollar went back up and we found ourselves in a situation where we could not be competitive despite making the commitment to hold the stock on our shelf. While it is not in line with our initial goals to specially order stock only on request, this is unfortunately the only way we can remain competitive on some selected kits.

If you are interested in any of these kits please contact me. With out purchasing power and ability to consolidate orders we will be able to offer you a saving over directly importing the kit yourself. At the very least, when you choose to order through Suburban Rocketry we absorb the risk of missing or damaged stock between the USA and Australia so there are advantages other than the potential saving of a couple of bucks.

I have purchased before but can't log in. What should I do? Please contact me. Most of the time this is due to an incorrect login or password. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will reset your password.

I made a mistake with my order. What should I do? Correcting any errors on your order is easy. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with details of what you want changed and it will be done without fuss. No worries!

I placed an order but did not receive a confirmation. Why? When you place an order with Suburban Rocketry you will be emailed a confirmation within minutes. If you do not get this confirmation the likely cause is an incorrect email address has been entered. Keep in mind that if incorrect details have been entered I will also be unable to respond. If you do not receive a confirmation within a few minutes after placing an order please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

How much will shipping cost? Because of the nature of our product it is quite difficult to automate the shipping costs. Australia Post will calculate shipping based on weight and/or volume. When a package is 1kg or less it is charged by weight. However, once the package exceeds 1kg then Australia Post will calculate the shipping cost based on volume.

Because of the difficulty in getting a computer to calculating these variables, after your order is placed I will pre-pack your order and calculate the freight. You will then be sent a confirmation which includes the calculated freight cost to your postcode along with payment details. All orders are shipped directly from our warehouse in NSW (postcode 2446).

Freight is charged at cost plus $2.50 postage and handling which covers the price of the shipping box and any packaging required to ensure your order is well padded. As of January 2010 we have shipped over 500 orders with no reports of damage items so you can purchase from us with confidence that your order will arrive in one piece. A great deal of attention is invested when packing your order and getting your items to you in one piece is something we take very seriously.

How long will it take to receive a confirmation which includes shipping and payment details after I submit my order? You should expect a personal reply from us same day if your order is placed during normal business hours. However, for orders placed during weekends, or late at night, it may take us a little longer. All things being equal you will not have to wait long. Our goal is to have your order processed and shipped out the door as quickly as possible.

What payment methods do you accept? We accept Paypal, Direct Depost, Bank Cheque and Money Orders. While we do not directly accept payment via Credit Card, such payments can be made via the Paypal website even if you do not have a Paypal account. For international orders the only accepted method is Paypal. Due to a few presented personal cheques which are still bouncing, we are unable to accept personal cheques.

How long will it take to process my order? Your order will be packed within 24 hours from payment being received, however - more often than not, your order will be packed the same day we receive payment.

How long will it take to ship my order? If payment is received before 6:00pm your order will almost always be shipped the following business day. For payments made after 6:00pm your order may miss the following days shipping run and will be shipped the next day.

When can I expect to take delivery of my order? After your order is shipped you will receive a confirmation confirming this. For most capital cities your order should arrive within 2-3 days however this is subject to your local delivery service. For customers in Western Australia 4-5 business days is the usual.

Can my order be tracked in transit? The basic answer is no (if your order has been shipped via standard Australia Post it can not be tracked). I strongly suggest that you request your order to be shipped via Registered Post. If you wish to have something shipped via registered post please leave us a message with your order requesting this. Registered Post will cost an additional $3.00 but offers good piece of mind and insurance if you have made a significant purchase. Orders which exceed $150 worth of product are shipped by Registered Post at no additional charge.

I want to cancel my order. What should I do? Please contact me ASAP. When you place an order the items ordered are reserved for you. The inventory is removed from our store and is made unavailable for other customers to purchase. Customers who place orders and show no intention of following through with their purchase (by choosing not to make payment or refusing to respond to our emails), will be marked as spam and blocked from shopping with us. We will offer you spectacular service and we are willing to work with you if something happens that prevents you from proceeding with your order, but we have zero patience for time wasters so if you change your mind, please contact us so we can release your stock rather than mess us around.

Why don't you sell rocket engines? The short answer is "it is all too hard". Rocket engines are classified as dangerous goods. Distributing, storing and handling these types of products in bulk is messy and expensive and would monopolise our time and resources. Keep in mind we are a small business and avoiding the red tape involved with this type of product allows us to concentrate what we do best, supporting the rocketry community with great kits and scratch building supplies for your own unique projects.

I have had a bad experience ordering online before. How do I know Suburban Rocketry is a reliable supplier? I have also been ripped off online, when it happens it is not much fun. Considerable feedback has been left for us at the Forum found at the Australian Rocketry website . Take a look at the comments and customer feedback and you can be confident dealing with us will be a rewarding safe experience.

I found the same or a similar product cheaper elsewhere. Will you match the price? The short answer is, "we will do our best". Other places will make claims they will beat any price, many have to resort to these practices because they already have a poor reputation and pricing is the only card they have left to play, they don't understand the concept of exceptional service and customer satisfaction. While pricing is important, it is not everything. I am sure we have all be burned at one time or another by simply price shopping for an item only to discover the "cheapest price" was less important than the availability, follow-up service or quality. Often shopping with price alone as the motivator does come at a higher cost. I can say I have experienced this fact on several occasions.

All said and done, our pricing is exceptional and very competitive - but sometimes because we carry stock on our shelf (rather than order only on request), we do get caught out with fluctuating exchange rates. Sure we can only choose to order stock when the Australian dollar is at its very best, but doing this will never guarantee regular healthy stock availability (which we consider a very important part of our role in supporting the Australian rocketry community).

If you find something that we are not competitive on and you wish to make a purchase, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . I will do my best not only to offer you the best service, but also work on giving you the best value for money which I do understand is important.
